Home and Cell Groups in the Mattishall Benefice

Burgh Lane Home Groups

Home Group 1

Meets 7.45pm every Tuesday in term time, at Burgh Lane, Mattishall.

This is a group consists of mainly retired people.

The group enjoys getting to grips with God’s word.

The meeting starts with a welcome and opening prayer followed by a worship hymn/song, bible study and discussion, prayer time including prayer ministry if needed and closes by relaxing over a cup of tea and biscuits.

The group takes it in turns to lead various parts of the meeting. One of our members is a former S.A.M.S missionary and three of the group work for the Gambia charity, G.A.T.E.

Home Group 2

Meets every Tuesday in term time, at Burgh Lane, Mattishall.

This group is a mature group of seven members who are very young at heart and willing to help where needed, if all possible.

The group meets to study God’s word for the benefit of the world and us.

At the start of the meeting they open with a time of greeting and share news, followed by a praise song (each member takes it in turn to choose a song) led by a member who plays the keyboard. A opening prayer is said before bible study. At present they are using the life builder study books on various subjects. They close with prayer about the study time and have a time of general prayer as each member wishes to bring before they group. They close the meeting with refreshments and a good old mardel (chat).

This group has a great love for the Lord and each other.

Gregs Close Cell Group

Meets every Thursday at Greggs Close, Mattishall.

The group is made up from mature members from All Saints Mattishall & All Saints Welborne.

The group is currently reading cover to cover - the Bible in chronological order.

They start the meeting with refreshments and sharing events of the past week and if necessary, give support to one another. We discuss the previous weeks reading resolving and queries. We close with prayer.

Thursday Cell Group

Meets every Thursday at various homes.

The group consists mainly of young both married and single people.

The group meets for Bible study and discussion.

The meetings start with refreshments and time to catch up with one another. During the meeting there is lots of talking, laughing, sharing, worship, prayer, bible study and discussion.

They have an occasional evening out socially. The group aims to love and encourage one another. And are very welcome to invite new members to join them.

Tree Tops Cell Group

Meets every 2nd Thursday in the month 2.30pm at Honingham.

The group consists mainly of retired people.

The meetings start with a chat followed by singing, bible study, prayer and lots of laughter.

Members of the group worship at East Tuddenham church, but meet at the home of one of the members at Honingham. The group lead the morning service at East Tuddenham church on the 4th Sunday of each month.

Quote " It's the only mid week church get together. This gives an opportunity to meet informally, to share our news, views and learn from one another. We experience a very deep sense of togetherness."

The Clays Cell Group

Meets every Monday 7.30pm at Norwich Road, Dereham

The group consists of people of mixed ages, typically with young/teenage families, establishing and growing in their faith.

We have a time of sharing, worship, followed by teaching. Responsibilities are shared amongst the group and teaching is based on material prepared by the Vicar.
There is always a lot of discussion - and a lot of laughter!

Mill Road Cell Group

Meets every Thursday 7.30pm at Mill Road, Mattishall

The group consists mainly of people who have recently completed an alpha course.

We start with coffee and cake followed by a time of catching up on people’s news from the last week. We then have a look at some bible passages trying to understand its meaning and how we apply it to our lives. We finish with a time of prayer.

Yaxham Cell Group

The Cell / Home group in Yaxham varies from 4-6 members of mature Christians. We meet on Monday evenings from 7.30 until approximately 9pm, in each others houses. There is always Bible study and prayer, but we also share problems, successes, and a great deal of laughter in a relaxed atmosphere.
There is always room for others if they would like to join us.

Clint Green Home Group

Meets every Thursday evening at 8 p.m. at Clint Green, Yaxham. A group seeking an encounter with God through prayer and bible study. Evenings consist of prayer, praise, the written word and fellowship with no formal structure but led by God.
